Some traditional Foods are definitely weird. Here in Germany, we actually have a whole Bunch of those.
Pigs Feet for example are a staple of Bavarian Cuisine. But this is not about Haxen.
It is about something much weirder.
When you look at it, it actually just looks like a badly burned Sausage. It is actually completely black on the Outside.
On the Inside, the Sausage is also pretty much Black. Or sometimes also dark Red.
That Colour actually comes from the main Ingredient of the Sausage we call Schwarzwurst. It is also known as Rotwurst in other Areas.
There are pieces of Lard and sometimes bits of Organs in it.
The main Ingredient is something very Weird though: Pigs Blood.
It is absolutely delicious. I can not always stand the Taste of it, but at Times there is absolutely nothing better in the World.
I do not know if it is the Taste of the Blood, the Lard and all those Spices in the Sausage, but I really love that Flavour at Times.
It is also a very odd Food indeed.
