Every Country has their unique Foods, and we here in Germany have a whole lot of them.
One of those weird German Dishes I really love is a beautiful Schupfnudel Casserole with Sauerkraut.
It is not actually traditional as a Casserole, but it builds on something delicious, making it even better.
Traditionally, Schupfnudeln would be served with Sauerkraut alone and maybe some kind of Bratwurst or other Sausage.
My Mom however makes a mean Casserole by adding some Ground Meat and Cheese. Sometimes, she uses diced Ham instead of the Mince though.
I do not like every kind of Casserole, but there are some really nice ones out there. This one makes the high End of my List for certain.
Admittedly, I never had traditional Schupfnudeln with Sauerkraut before. I am sure they are great, but I also have no Idea how they are.
Mixed up with all those beautiful Things my Mm adds into the Mix, they definitely taste beautiful though.
Cheese definitely makes a lot of Things better, and it really makes Schupfnudeln taste great.
