Sometimes, I really love a good Flammkuchen. Back in the Day, I would usually go for the Frozen Version. But that is not good enough anymore.
That is especially true since I found out that Flammkuchen is actually very simple to make by yourself.
It is pretty much just a Pizza with Crème Fraîche, Onions and Bacon Bits instead of the usual Toppings.
I used some Schmand, that is something like Sour Creme, though.

Flammkuchen is also much more than that though. It is a staple of Franco-German Cuisine.
It is very simple to make, and it is usually super delicious.
Normally, you would use a thin Bread Dough, but I had decided to use a simple store- bought Pizza Dough instead.
It was just simpler to get.

This was also not the first Time I made some Flammkuchen at Home. Since then, I have definitely gotten much better at it.
Sadly, I did not have any fresh Onions in the Pantry. But this Time around, freeze-dried worked out nicely.
Admittedly, I think they worked out much better than fresh Onions. Without all that Water present, they crisped up much more evenly.

Because my Oven is very tiny and not that powerful at all, it took a long Time to actually cook that Flammkuchen still.
Instead of the 20 Minutes put onto the Doughs label, it actually took me 30 Minutes to get it done. And the Top turned out just a bit crispier than I would have liked.
In the End, it was definitely very delicious though. That is all that really counts, is it not?

This Time around, I did pimp my Flammkuchen just a little bit by adding some Zaubergewürz though.
That Stuff is awesome, and it really does make a lot of Foods much better.
I also used a bit more Bacon than usually. That was also a very good choice. And it had turned out just the Way I like it:
Delicious, crispy on the outside and chewy within. That is how Bacon should be in my Opinion.
And that Flammkuchen was great as well.
