A beautiful Markthalle

Last Week, I was out exploring Baden-Württemberg with the 9-€-Ticket. It was great, and I am going to continue next Week.

There was also a lot of great Food to be discovered all across the Länd.

For example, I really enjoyed exploring the Markthalle, or Public Market, in Stuttgart.

Even though a lot of Stands were closed, there was still a whole lot of Food to be discovered. It was actually way to much for one Person on a single Day.

Like at any Public Market worth its Salt, there were Stalls from pretty much all over there Place.

Some were Hungarian, some Spanish, some Swiss and a whole lot of them were from Süddeutschland. One of the Stalls even was from Norddeutschland.

I absolutely loved it. That Markthalle was an awesome Place!

The first Stall I actually got something from was Hungarian.

There, I bought some Paprika Powder and some non-alcoholic Beer.

I actually bought two of those Beers, one flavoured Apple Pear and one flavoured Watermelon Strawberry.

Those were actually very nice.

Next, as I was getting a bit hungry, I visited a Spanish Stall.

There was a beautiful smell coming from there and I just had to figure out what that was coming from.

It turned out to come from several differently stuffed Bocadillos.

Those are Spanish Paninis filled with all kinds of Goodies. In the End, I got one with Serrano Ham and Cheese. I also got it heated up.

I also bought some beautiful Chorizo there. That Stuff was also very good.

After that, I then found a Turkish Stall and just had to get a Treat or two from there.

I decided on Lokum, also known as Turkish Delights and some Baklava filled with Pistachios.

The Baklava actually was not that great, but the Lokum was very much awesome. There was a bit too much powdered Sugar on it though.

But since a whole lot of Stalls were actually closed, and a lot of them were also selling kinda similar Things, I did leave this beautiful haven of Food after a while.

I had a really good Time there though. I am probably going to go back there again some Day.

  1. That is a wonderful market! We have nothing like that around here, but I hear that there are pretty interesting food markets in Boston, MA and NY, NY…. just not in this little farm town. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your day with us. 🙂

      1. Hyperlocal is definitely a Thing in the States, and it is indeed very satisfying to eat something that I’ve grown from seed in my own backyard, but the biggest reason I garden is for relaxation. Weeding is my Zen. 🙂
