Some vegan Köttbullar

I love good Food. I also really like it to try out new Things. That is usually really great. So today, I did just that.

After seeing a Package in the Supermarket I just had to get myself some vegan Köttbullar made from Lentils.

To be honest, I had no high expectations. I just really wanted to try out how it would taste. A good Flavour is paramount after all.

So, after arriving back Home from grocery shopping, I just had to try those vegan Köttbullar out.

Since the packaging instructed me to warm them up for a bit, I quickly put those little Lentil-Balls into the Microwave and let it go for a while.

First of all, I have to tell you about the smell. It was actually quite good. Those little Linsbullar actually smelled awesome.

That smell actually had me wanting to taste the Food.

As I have stated before, Flavour is Key. Without Flavour, every Food is nothing. But there is another very important Thing: Mouthfeel.

That is where a bit of sadness comes into this otherwise happy Food Discovery.

Sadly, my delicious smelling Linsbullar were very torr. That means dry in Swedish. Good Köttbullar, no matter if meaty or not, are not that dry.

So I had to use some Sauce I had bought for another Food Project that I will do tomorrow.

With that Sauce, they were really great though. I actually loved them.

  1. I’m sorry your foray into vegan food was disappointing. Keep trying – there are some seriously good plant-based foods available these days. Not like the early 80’s when we were restricted to nuts, beans and tofu – there’s nothing wrong with nuts, beans, and tofu, but I like all the new choices that have popped up now that vegan food has become more or less mainstream. 😊
