A Swiss Remedy

A sore Throat can be pretty annoying. I absolutely hate mine right now. The Cold can really do that to you.

Luckily, the Swiss do have a great Remedy for that: Ricola Kräuterzucker.

That Stuff really soothes a dry Throat like not much else can.

Kräuterzucker is made from Sugar, 13 Herbs, Mint Oils and Menthol, and it does taste really good.

Previously, I had always thought that all those Herbs were secret, but they are actually listed on the Packaging:

Buckhorn, Marsh Mallow, Peppermint, Thyme, Sage, Alchemilla (Lady’s Mantle), Elderflower, Primrose, Yarrow, Pimpinella Speedwell, Mallow and Horehound.

Together, all those Herbs make a very soothing Swiss Remedy.

It also tastes very good.

Ricola Kräuterzucker has plenty of tradition…

Back in 1930 in small-town Switzerland near Basel, a Baker named Emil Richterich founded Ricola (Richterich Compagnie Laufen).

He believed in the healing powers of Herbs, and after some research mixed those 13 special Herbs back in 1940.

That Mix remains pretty much unchanged ever since. And it does exactly what it is supposed to do:

Provide some sweet relief for sore Throats.

  1. I wish I knew about this last week. 😂 I’m just on the tail end of my first (hopefully last!) Covid attack. Luckily, it was very minor (just a bit of sore throat and cough for a few days) and I’m all better now. Even more luckily, my 86 year old father-in-law got off with NO symptoms at all! I guess vaccines really do help. 😊 I hope you recover from your cold soon – my doctor is very big on zinc and vitamin C supplements…

    1. Yeah, I guess that would probably have been good. 😊
Luckily, it is just a cold for me, from working outside in the wet & cold. 🤧
